I'll bite.

I voted "making own maneuvers system"
Why?
Cause I actually really enjoy using the Epic Spellcasting system of creating your own spells, even if a lot of it works better with ad hocced values and can too easily be shut down entirely by DM ruling that you can't make an epic spell with a 0 spellcraft DC you're stupid.

I also am in love with the Thematic Spell feat.

See? I'm a person who is too easily satisfied with open-ended fluffiness no matter how bad the mechanics tied to it are. :p

I went with Stock Maneuvers because I feel like it would be harder to get a DM to accept an open-Ended system where you create your own. Even if that would be more fun.

Tbf, it's hard to get a DM to accept homebrew at all. At least, offline.

Online, it's incredibly common.

Where is the "I like the current system" option? :P

I think having a "generic" option to trade out disciplines (basically like an ACF) would be a good idea, but I actually like arranging the maneuvers into "schools" with common themes. Having an option to trade out maneuvers known would be something I'd like to see, also. Maybe even daily, like some spellcasters can (maybe not all, but 1 or 2, or have a class feature where you can use some that you don't know occasionally, etc).

I don't pee messages into the snow often , but when I do , it's in Cyrillic with Fake Viagra.  Stay frosty my friends.

Aside from maybe removing the prerequisites, keep the system as is.

Also +1 to Phaedrus's idea.

+1 Phaedrus, I find the themes helpful, at least conceptually.  Although the mechanics for some maneuvers can be lackluster in practice.

Semi-relatedly, is there a good sense somewhere about where maneuvers should stack up power-wise?  I feel like there's some idea that a maneuver of X level should correspond to a spell of Y level, but I don't know if I'm just making that up/intuiting it.  From some old online WotC article maybe?

I didn't intend to do away with thematics or schools.  You can still design stuf to fit a specific theme.

I'm also considering making maneuvers similar to some spells in 5e: ie. the effect the maneuver has depends on what level it is initiated as.

re:homebrew

My DM was pretty chill with it. Well, one of the two was, at least.

Voting closed? A system to design your own sounds difficult but if large enough could allow one to recreate all the originals. Hint hint.

I had intended just that.
